OVERWHELMING PARTICIPATION OF PROFESSIONALS AT CONTACT PAKISTAN QUALITY AWARENESS SEMINAR

 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

ICON – RealConsult and Moody International co-sponsored seminar was organized by
Contact Pakistan and attended by CP professional from leading organizations of Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, January 27, 2007 – “Quality Awareness Seminar” was organized in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday, January 26, 2007 by Contact Pakistan, the largest vNGO for Pakistanis in the world. Around 300 CP Community professionals from leading Saudi Arabian organizations attended the seminar. Seminar focused on topics like Concepts of Quality, Failures Causes in achieving quality, benefits of quality, Cost of quality, Concepts of Continual Improvements, Process approach to improvements, different improvement models, ISO and other improvement options available Internationally.

Mr. Mobin Sheikh, Principal Consultant at ICON-RealConsult and Mr. Ian Ker, Lead Asser at Moody International S.A. Ltd, were lead speakers at the seminar. Leading quality professional and business mentors including Mr. Asad Ullah Sherazee - GM Coca Cola Bottling Co, Mr. Nadeem Tufail Butt- Quality Assurance Manager Saudi Ceramics Co, Mr. Javed Abbasi- Project Director for IT Security and Services at Al Rajhi Bank, Mr. Peter William Dighton- QA manager Herfy Food Services Co, addressed the audience and share their experiences regarding implementation of different management system standards in their organizations, the benefits of implementing these standards  and the challenges they face during implementation.

In the opening speech, Mehmood Tariq who heads event management for Contact Pakistan KSA said, We are thankful to the organizations, which understand the importance of our social work and extend their helping hand, whenever we need them, our last Seminar was on education, and we invited a very competent education consultant, from Pakistan who offered free Consultation to Parents who were otherwise, totally confused, about the education future of their children, in Pakistan.  The feed back and the comments, who attended the Seminar is phenomenal a driving force for us.  I only urge and request all those community members who are blessed with resources and influence,  to support our community projects and come forward and join the band wagon, we are an army of silent soldiers who do their best  without  worrying about  fame and glory and leaving the reward to the one of is watching every deed. So let’s join the hand together and make a meaningful difference in the growth of community, he added. He said further that Contact Pakistan is totally committed, to serve the community; we do not expect any reward in return except your blessing and prayers.  We do all these for free, with no charge to our members, and our best gain out of this work, is our inner satisfaction.

When we see people appreciate our efforts and take meaningful knowledge from our work we go home with sense of achievement.   

Lead Speaker Mr. Mobin Sheikh, Principal Consultant at ICON-RealConsult focused in his presentation on Quality, Process approach to quality, Implementation plan for different ISO based management system standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, HACCP, BRC/IoP Global Standards, ISO 27001 (BS7799), ISO 20000 (BS15000), ISO 16949, AS91000, AS9020, AS9003, TL 9000, ISO 17025, SA 8000, and IRCA registered Lead Auditor Certifications. He further emphasized, “ICON-RealConsult is ethical consulting, training and support company and focuses on system improvements and value additions for its clients. We believe that ISO Certificate is by-product of all these value additions and is just the start of new journey for excellence”. 

Mr. Ian Ker, Lead Auditor at Moody International, talked about certification process and what are parameters to select the right consulting and Certification Company for your ISO project. Mr. Ian Ker highlighted the fact that there are many bogus certification companies in market which are cheating innocent entrepreneurs and just selling piece of paper rather than doing any value addition for their businesses. He appreciated the working style and customer care by ICON-RealConsult. 

Talking at the event GM ICON, Mr. Mustaqeem Sheikh reiterated ICON commitment to be a true socially responsible corporate citizen. He thanked Contact Pakistan for arrangements made by them and confirmed that ICON will keep supporting such seminar and other community activities in future as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program. 

In closing remarks  Dr. Usmani on behalf of Contact Pakistan thanked the participants and appreciated their interest to know more about quality and other improvement options. He proudly shared achievements of CP Medical team in 2006 that conducted three health seminars one exclusives ladies managed seminar on issues related to elderly females. He also thanked the delegates for their outclass discipline and hoped that seminar must have added value in their skill and career.  

In a message by Mr. Tahir Butt, Founder Contact Pakistan, in which he thanked ICON-RealConsult and Moody International for sponsoring the event and admired both companies. Contact Pakistan arranged the Seminar and pledged to accelerate the efforts to hold more such productive events in future. We have started with QA Awareness seminar and inshaAllah we will end 2007 with a CP Mega Mela said Tahir. Lucky draw was conducted after question and answer session and 10 lucky participants were given gifts. Seminar was followed by executive dinner and networking.
