ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS OUR
LIFE!
Arthur Ashe, the legendary
Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS
contracted during blood transfusion. From world
over, he received letters from his fans, one of
which conveyed:
"Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad
disease"?
To this Arthur Ashe replied:
The world over -- 50 million children start
playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis,
5 hundred thousand learn professional tennis,
50,000 come to the circuit, 5,000 reach the
grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final,
2 to the finals. When I was holding a cup I
never asked GOD "Why me?”. And today in pain I
should not be asking GOD "Why me?"Happiness
keeps You Sweet,
Trials keep You Strong,
Sorrows keep You Human,
Failures keeps You Humble,
Success keeps You Glowing,
But Only God keeps You Going!

Exclusive Recipe |

STUFFED MIRCH
PAKORA |
|
Basic batter
- 200 g. gram flour, sieved (besan)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1level tsp. bicarbonate of soda
- 1 level tsp. cumin seeds
- 2-3 drops of Yellow food color
- about 300 ml warm water
Ingredients for
stuffing
- 6 large size green chilies
- 1 small onion, skinned and finely chopped
- 1 tbsp. tamarind juice
- 1 tsp. Red chili powder
- 1\2 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. pomegranate seeds, ground
- 2 tsp. chat masala
1. Place the gram flour and
the remaining dry ingredients and food color in a bowl. Pour
in the water gradually and beat to a smooth and thick paste.
The consistency should be like thick pancake batter. Leave
aside to rest for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile prepare the stuffing. Mix together the
chopped onions, chili powder, salt, pomegranate seeds, chat
masala and tamarind juice. Wash and pat dry the chilies.
Make an incision on one side of the chili lengthwise and
remove the seeds. Stuff each chili with good amount of
stuffing and keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a karahai to smoking
point, then reduce the heat to medium.
4. Dip each chili into the batter and coat it
thoroughly with the better and then using your fingers lift
it out of the batter and at once drop them into the hot oil.
Be careful not to splash yourself with hot oil. Fry 2-3
chilies at a time. (Don't try to fry too many at a time.)
Fry for a few minutes, then carefully turn them over. Fry
the mirch pakoras for 5-8 minutes to a crisp golden color,
drain thoroughly with a perforated slice. Then place them on
absorbent kitchen paper.
5. Sprinkle with chat masala.
6. Serve with
Nan,
Podinay Ki Chutney
and
Sweet tamarind chutney

To cut hard boiled eggs
smoothly
While cutting hard boiled eggs, the egg yolk often tends to
break. To avoid this dip the knife in cold water for a few
seconds and then cut smoothly.

Young fellows,
Assalam-O-Alikum!
I believe we are all familiar about the recent incident that
shook our whole country. The disastrous earthquake has
claimed more than 20,000 lives and left many injured. There
is hardly any building left in the badly hit areas. Many
people have lost not only their homes, but also their family
members, their own body limbs leaving them crippled for life
time. They are your countrymen and they await your help. The
affected people comprise of more than 50% children. Who are
just like your own brothers and sisters and are now waiting
for your aid. "It is not
righteousness that you turn your faces towards the East and
the West, but righteousness is this that one should believe
in Allah and the last day and the angels and the Book and
the prophets, and give away wealth out of love for Him to
the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the
wayfarer and the beggars and for (the emancipation of) the
captives, and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate; and the
performers of their promise when they make a promise, and
the patient in distress and affliction and in time of
conflicts-- these are they who are true (to themselves) and
these are they who guard (against evil). "-[002.177]
One feels so
helpless sitting here, doing nothing, while there are
thousands out there who need help. No means to get to the
people stuck up in North. No means of even helping people
who are caught in the rubble. But we can do something that
can bring them relief. Fellows, this is Holy month of
Ramadan. In this month, a kind deed done will be rewarded
with more "ajar" than in days other than Ramadan.
First of all we shall try to get them monetary help. I'm
sure all of you get pocket money. You can easily save; say
20% of it, by refraining from buying those things for which
you can wait. Give the saved money for the needy up in
Northern areas of Pakistan. Children know the tricks to push
their parents. Use them to coax your uncle, father and those
whom you can influence on to compensate through their other
expenses like smoking, partying, eat-outs and likes. Tell
them to send this money to relief centers in Pakistan. Now
Eid is coming. When our nation is caught in such a tragic
condition, one hardly expects to celebrate Eid with much
extravagance. I propose that we should cut down our
anticipated expenses for Eid. We have so many new clothes in
our wardrobe. If not new then hardly worn once or twice.
Dear fellows, don’t invest in buying three, four clothes for
Eid. Save the money and help the poor and win the
unmatchable clothes of Jannat that you can always enjoy in
the life Hereafter. Also on your Eid, make it a point to
send part of your Eid money for relief programs. These
people have lost their homes. Villages on the whole have
devastated. Money is needed to put up homes again. Save
every penny that you can. Your little cut downs on luxuries
will be used to bring the necessities of life for these
Earthquake stricken people.
And above all, remember to pray for the departed souls and
ask Allah to give strength to all those who have lost so
much. Such calamites either come as test from Allah or they
mark Allah's wrath and anger for violating His commandments.
Seek Allah's forgiveness. We, the whole Muslim Umma need to
do collective Istighfar. May Allah save us from tests and
forgive our sins that we did knowing or not knowing.
Ms. Amna Tariq Holy City of Makkah-Ul-Mukarrama

“Each of our breath is a priceless jewel, since
each of it is ir-replaceable and, once gone, can
never be retrieved.
Do not be like a deceived person who is joyous
because each day his wealth increases, while his
life shortens.
What good is an increase in wealth when life
grows ever shorter? Therefore be joyous only for
an increase in beneficial knowledge and good
deeds which will be helpful in this world and
also will be our companions in the grave when
family, wealth, children and friends stay
behind.”

HOW EARTHQUAKES HAPPEN?

|
As an overseas Pakistani I
wanted to say how deeply grieved I am at the
tragedy in Pakistan. Seeing the pictures is very depressing.
However, when
someone comes out alive from the rubble, it makes me very
happy to see that
they are alive. I was overjoyed to see the 18 month old boy,
Ibrahim, come out alive after being buried for 48 hours
without food, drink and his family. Seeing his father cry
for joy was heartrending. A few months back I
suffered the loss of my nephew who was less than two months
old. That experience was very heart breaking for me. So I
can fully understand the grief people are feeling at the
loss of their loved ones. I also wish to say that I am happy
to see the Pakistani public responding in such a pro active
manner, and wish I could be there to help in any way I
could. Also, I wish to congratulate the CP team for helping
us overseas Pakistani to send relief goods to our Muslim
brothers and sisters. Please keep it up!

Dear Brothers, Assalam
Alikum,
First of all I salute you for your
efforts during this time of crisis for Pakistan. May
Allah bless our country and people like you who spend
there valuable time it.
Furthermore, this tragic Earth Quake has
brought the nation together as one and has also brought
together all of the Pakistanis here in Riyadh. The
concept of this community is excellent, and I think we
should all get together for other occasions as well
apart from disaster and such tragic occasions. I think
that with the help of Contact Pakistan we can arrange
get together, melas, cricket matches as well as National
days parties. This is something that we, Pakistanis,
miss the most about our country. Again, Congratulations
on a job well done. Regards, Nabil
Dear Bhai, thank you for your kind
email. Yes, this is what CP is all about. Be united and
enjoy the fruits of unity. We do like to arrange such
events as you mentioned but remember we are a community
driven community therefore, such events are to be
arranged by community itself and we make sure that
everyone joins in. So if you have a plan of such an
event then let us know, we guarantee thousands to join
in.
We thank you all. You all really
worked hard for this noble cause. May Allah Bless
you all for helping those in dare need. Please keep
up the good spirit. If you can start a new campaign
any time later the Pakistanis will be there to
donate. Edhi is really doing an excellent job. Your
choice is excellent. Please just ORDER us and we
shall be there to donate anything possible. ALLAH-O-AKBAR
Pakistan Community Zindabad.
Dear Bhai, Appreciate your
prayers. Note that CP breathes with the efforts of
its community. Therefore, we are nothing, and could
never do any thing unless each on of us was not
playing his/her role. So I would rather thank you
being there when Pakistan needed you. May Allah
bless us al.
Salam o Alikum, There are
certainly no complains with CP for their role in
the earthquake relief efforts. I think you have
provided all Pakistani community a platform
within KSA. And I really thank you for your key
role. I just want to make a suggestion. You have
setup 1 camp in Riyadh. If its possible then
setup 1 camp in Jeddah and 1 in Dammam / Khobar
area under CP banner. It will help a lot people
gathering things and it will go directly to Edhi
foundation in Pakistan as you have close
contacts with PIA. It will be great pleasure if
I could be of any help to you for this purpose
within Dammam / Khobar / Hafouf area in Eastern
region.
AH, Asif Syed.
Thanks for your kind words of appreciation.
Well, role of CP was to assist all participating
community welfare organization whereas prime
role was to motivate and mobilize the community
which thanks to Almighty we did so well. No
community organization in Jeddah contacted us to
take our help so sorry, we could not do much. No
we did not use PIA, it is a long story but in
short we felt better to use Saudi Red Crescent
which played the vital role of any organization
of its kind. May Allah bless Custodian of the
Two Holy Mosques and his team who has kind heart
and the organizations that are sympathetic and
honest in their role. We are no more collecting
relief goods as we have already over 50 tons
alone in Riyadh which is increasing every hour!
In
the end we are so pleased that we were able to
do our job professionally and honestly. May
Allah bless you.
Respected Sir, Assalamu
Alaikum - I am Mrs Asma Shahid ( wife of
Shahid Latif). I am also a member of Contact
Pakistan. I was busy in school so i told my
husband to take information from you about
the delivery of goods for the earth quake
victims. So he send you mail and then I
called Asif bhai as per your advice and he
guided us. Alhumdulilah the blankets, dates
and medicines are delivered. I am too much
happy today as at least our blankets will be
reached to the needy people and wants to
thank you for all that work you are doing
for the earth quake victims. InshaAllah you
will get a big Reward for all that.
Now the problem is for the
worm clothes. Sir believe me we packed the
clothes in polythene bags making sure that
it should be in pairs ... means shalwar
kameez , pant shirt, jackets and sweaters
... so when they are delivered every one
will get a full set . Same is with the pair
of shoes ... but Asif bhai told us that you
are not taking clothes any more ... Now can
you plz guide us what to do for them .. If
it is difficult for you to send clothes then
we will drop them in Naseriya school from
where we don't know when and where they will
be delivered. I know may be people are
giving clothes in bad conditions and not in
proper way but really we packed them nicely
.. InshaAllah when any one will get these
clothes he/ she will be happy. Once again
thanks a lot for your efforts .May Allah
Bless You A lot (Ameen) Mrs Asma Shahid
Riyadh
WaS - Many thanks for the email and the
contribution. InshaAllah your donated
relief goods will reach to the need
within next few days. We are making sure
that it happens by having an agreement
with Edhi Foundation. About the
clothing, the reason we are
not accepting dresses is simply due to
restriction imposed by Pakistani Govt.
It is told to us that Govt. got piles of
clothing in Pakistan which still needs
to be delivered therefore, to use the
available storing place more effectively
it is decided that only blankets,
medicines and tents will be accepted. We
had trouble in getting cleared our last
shipment due to the same problem so it
is decided to stop sending clothing to
avoid any delays of clearing more vital
goods such as medicines. May I suggest
to donate these cloths to one of the
mosque near you. We have one such mosque
on the French corner Sulaimanya traffic
light which has a kind of cage outside
the mosque where you can drop such
clothing. Regards and thanks once again
for helping the needy.
