Congratulations

REHMAN ELLAHI
FROM JEDDAH
You Have Won!

Professor Says!
Every democratic country is based on three main departments, Executive, Legislature and Judiciary. Powers and limitations of these three departments may differ in different constitutions. But the main clause, which is common in every constitution of the world, is “Rights and duties of a citizen” because this clause inter-relates three of them to act for the people, by the people and of the people. This clause of constitution is the only link between State and Society, individual and government and above all among citizens. Unfortunately, most of the people, particularly of developing countries are not aware of this. Lack of awareness, which is due to illiteracy, is the major cause of this ignorance. Secondly, all those who are aware and understand this clause never teach this to those who are unaware. We are Pakistanis, our country’s name is Islamic Republic of Pakistan, but are we aware of our rights and duties? Probably, we presume duties for others and rights for ourselves. This presumption has already divided us in different classes and led us to injustice. We have gone through some elections and used our “right to vote” but we are never be given the right of no confidence. We have been using the “right to speak” but we never gave this right to our opponents. We have been utilizing the “right to write” but never allowed anybody to write against our opinion. We want to enjoy the “right of liberty” but we put some conditions for others. On and on we have been living in a system where minority has been ruling majority. Thank God that some of us realized and pointed out the root causes of imbalanced society, unequal distribution of resources and unjust division of opportunities. Most of us are unite on one thing that education should be compulsory for every Pakistani child. And if we are able to enjoy this “right” for our children, we would be able to fulfill the clause written in our constitution, ”All Pakistanis are equal” to some extent.  And the lesson of rights and duties would become understandable and popular. But we should not forget, that without unity we cannot and will not able to enjoy our “rights” and fulfill our “duties". And always remember "Together WE can make a difference!"
We always welcome your
comments and suggestions.

Dr. Ahmed Waseem, who is not only my affectionate younger brother but a friend, advisor, and my business partner,  had an attack of headache during the last week of March, and the investigations later revealed that a blood clot passed through his brain and infected some areas, which has affected his speech and writing ability badly.  Now there are two clots in his main arteries, which need to be dissolved through medicines or removed through very delicate surgery.  Health, sickness and recovery is from Allah the Almighty, and He is the only one Who can cure any disease.   He is the only Creator and everything in the whole universe is under His control.  May He grant speedy complete recovery to my brother.  You are kindly requested to remember Dr. Ahmed Waseem in your special prayers.

Eating Walnuts May Be a Tasty Way to Lower Your Cholesterol
More than just an adornment for salads and brownies, walnuts have been shown to significantly lower levels of LDL cholesterol -- the bad cholesterol -- and raise levels of healthy fatty acids. Incorporating walnuts into your diet may be an appetizing way to reduce your LDL cholesterol levels by as much as six percent, according to results of a recent study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. Bursting with phytonutrients, polyunsaturated fats and fatty acids such as omega-3, scrumptious walnuts can help you adhere to the new guidelines of the National Cholesterol Education Program. These dietary rules state that no more than seven percent of your diet should stem from saturated fat, and you should keep your daily total fat intake between 30 and 35 percent, made up mostly of monosaturated and polyunsaturated fat. So, choose to snack on walnuts as a way to keep your cholesterol low! Source: Annals of Internal Medicine, 2000;132:538-546

We as the formers of the society have always stressed on the need of healthy relationships, better educational systems, proper functioning governments, securities in life and so on. We see various newspapers, magazines and talk shows stressing on current issues, government nuisance, and demand for democracy. However if we probe deeper into our daily lives, we come across problems which are hardly addressed or talked about, mainly because either they appear as a matter of a mere laugh to us at that moment or we have accepted them to be a part of our lives. ‘The Mother-in-law-Daughter-in-law war’ has been into existence ever since.

Questions / Comments ContactPakistan.com
NEVER CENSORED OR IGNORED

It was like dream come true when your last newsletter contained very informative newsletter from our embassy. I was wondering if we will continue getting such a useful publication or it was one time publication?
You people are doing some thing good for the community not like other organization that just talk and waste time.
Mrs. Shahida Nazir Al-Khobar
Dear Sister, we are so glad that you liked it. The newsletter was sent to us by the embassy to share with our community. As you can notice it was the very first newsletter. We hope once they have the second issue, we will bring it to your computer. Thanks for your appreciation. By the way we are not an organization but a community. We have no terms and conditions to join us and we have no class to select from. ContactPakistan is like your Pakistan outside Pakistan providing you all possible help that could be offered using internet. And we are not doing it, all of us are doing it because it is everyone's community center. Just Feel at home!

Recently we read two reports of Poetry sessions in Riyadh and standard of reporting was in question when one report was brilliant and other was lousy. Why? We expect ContactPakistan.com to produce quality reporting and contents. Please take care. <Name to be withheld>
We appreciate your comments and agree to your point. We are not defending our poor reporting and always find ways to improve our quality but at the same time I would like add that WE ARE NOT A NEWSPAPER and Pakistanis who report events are NOT PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS, they are people like any other Pakistani but they do spare some of their personal time and voluntarily report such events. I guess this should explain the difference styles of reporting.
We expect our community to come forward and send us their reports. Do not expect that we have a force of reporters who would appear in each and every community event. Our reporters are our community and we love when they share their memorable events with rest of us. We will be more careful in future but at the same time we would appreciate if you send your reports yourself.

Our Legal chamber, Students / Parents counseling, Dr PC, Virtual Hospital, Investment Center and special requests in various sections are only available to CP Members - Join the United Pakistan where only humanity matters!
This newsletter is NOT published on main site and sent exclusively to our members in KSA

 QUETTA

The Quetta is the capital of Balochistan and today it is a product of the 1935 plan which was designed to withstand high magnitude earthquakes after an earlier earthquake had devastated the city. The main thoroughfare is Jinnah Road while the parallel Shahrah-e-Pehlavi is a long, broad boulevard lined with plane trees. In the Kandahari and Liaquat Bazaars, tea-shops alternate with stalls selling local handicrafts like fine Baluchi mirror-work embroidery and green onyx carvings. The regional culinary specialty known as Sajji is also plentifully available. Although not inexpensive, Sajji is a whole leg of lamb skewered on a wooden spit and then barbecued beside open lire. Before cooking, the meat is marinated in salt for two or three hours. Quetta's bazaars offer a rich assortment of fresh fruit, including grapes, peaches and apples. The colorful orchards of the surrounding countryside gave this part of Baluchistan a special charm, unique in Pakistan. The Urak Valley, about twenty-two kilometers from Quetta. seems bathed in eternal spring, with the green and russet hues of the apple trees offset by the pale blue of the sky. A small waterfall splashes down into an irrigation channel and Pathan farmers gather nearby to drink tea and pass the time of day. Henna Lake, eleven kilo-meters from Quetta, provides a contrasting form of beauty. Set amongst low brown hills, this picnic spot is popular with the townspeople of Quetta for its tranquil waters and cooling breezes. The seasonal water reservoir for the city of Quetta is Hanna Lake and is ideal place for fishing and boating in the summer months.
In the outskirts of
Quetta the little town of Ziarat stands amidst a forest of aromatic junipers at a height of 8200 feet (2500 meters). Here, during his last illness. Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah came to benefit from the clear, invigorating mountain air. The Quaid stayed far up on one of the green hillsides above Ziarat in a house built by the British in 1882 as the summer headquarters for the Agent of the Governor-General. The house, now known simply as the Residency, is one of those peaceful places in the world where the soul finds rest. It is surrounded by green lawns terraced into the contours of the hill and by bright, softly-scented flower gardens.

WORLD'S YOUNGEST MCT
I was looking around on the internet for a possible candidate to interview for Contact Pakistan (CP). While surfing, I happened to see a letter written to President of Pakistan for sponsorship by a young college student Bilal Iqbal of Islamabad. In his letter, he had mentioned about his record of being the World’s Youngest to hold various Computer/IT Related Certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, CIW and BrainBench. He had also mentioned about his record of being the only one in Pakistan to hold some of the certifications like CompTIA Linux+ etc. I read the letter couple of times and realized that the kid was a great achiever but had not been given a deserving coverage and support by the Government of Pakistan and Microsoft etc. I decided to contact, and requested him for an interview. I sent Bilal Iqbal an e-mail and mentioned my intentions. The offer was gladly accepted by Bilal with open heart and we decided the time and date for the interview on net.
