RIYADH, Oct. 10 Al Shark and United won their respective matches
over the weekend against Falcon KSA and Al Watania to advance into the next round of the
annual Inter company basketball tournament for the coveted Saudi Ceramics trophy.
A total of eight matches were completed. Shark and Falcon fought a keen tussle before the
former won 80-72. Jess Dela Cruz (23) and Rizalito Ching (22) and Remy Mc Tala dominated
(12) for the victors. As for the losers, Noel Villa Carlos (19), Gerry Geraldez (14) and
Sadat Kamal (12) tried their best so salvage some pride but failed.
In another exciting clash, United Wood defeated Watania by 86-73. Despite scoring 28
points with fine support from Geovanie Romero and Ralf Seming, their team loss was
unavoidable. Rupert Bugahod (26), Rizalito Ching (21) and Cornelio Javier (20) did an
excellent job for the winning side.
This annual event is continuing successfully for the past many years, thanks to the SCC
objective of promoting sports activities and better camaraderie in the Second Industrial
City. Through the years, the company has lived up to its vision that men with healthy body
and healthy mind yield a higher productivity. Today, the Inter company event is the most
popular of its class in the industrial area.
