AL KHOBAR, Nov. 7, 2000 – Preparations are on for the sixth Open Table Tennis tournament to be organized by the Eastern Province Table Tennis Players Association (EPTTPA) at Al Khobar from November 23-24.
The venue is not yet final but it is planned to be held either at the Nahda or Qadisia sports club, said Syed Majidullah Husaini, the EPTTPA general secretary. There will be twelve flights and the players would be placed as per their level of play. On the first day on Thursday, Level 7 to 12 would see action and the matches in Level 1 to 6 are lined up for the next day.





The last year defending champion, Shubber Hashim of Saudi Arabia would be eyeing for the top-flight crown once again but the path may not be an easy one this time as he will be facing tough challenge from his countrymen Abdullah Nasser, Bunder Omairi, Khalid Harbi and Abdulaziz Al Ebad.
