RIYADH, Nov. 28 – The KSU Kamandag grabbed a two fold victory last Friday afternoon to advance in the Division-B championship round as the fifth week action ended in a thrilling manner at the Power Darts 2000 tournament being played at the Sheraton Riyadh Hotel and Towers bowling alley.

They beat the Saudi Ericsson alliance in the tough stepladder contest. In the first match, the underdog Ericsson A2618s surrendered early as Kamandag won 8-4. Having established a good momentum from their first match, the determined victors down the more seasoned Saudi Ericsson Darters in the second match with an identical score.

In the Division-A action, Spice Boyz I showed spectacular performance by snatching another twin kill against their opponents. They first defeated Spice Boyz II in game one by 11-4 and then set aside the top contender, El Seif I in game two by 9-6 thus maintaining their position in the top slot. However, after several unsuccessful attempts, Seif finally recorded a win against veterans Ace Darters with 10-5 score. Spice Boyz II like-wise gave another loss to the Aces (9-4) after sweeping away all matches in the doubles round in game two.

T80 producers of the day were Sandy Alegre of El Seif I - his second so far, Mario Guanzon of Spice Boyz I and Alex Ignacio of Ace Darters. Dominic Sanches of Spice Boyz II also registered 18 darts finish via 40 out shot from a single match against Edwin Canales of Spice Boyz I.

The Division-A participants have now ended their last round robin matches and will meet anew for a more stormy stepladder championship battle on Friday. The teams in Division-B will continue their thrilling contest with more seasoned darters.

The event, second in series, contested by eleven teams, is organized by the Expat Darters of Saudi Arabia (EDSA), a prime association of dart enthusiasts based in the capital city and is sponsored by Power Horse energy drink courtesy of their country manager Ahbet Quinto and Franz Kristel, its regional manager. It is being hosted by Sheraton Riyadh hotel and towers. It is fully supported by its general manager, Helmut Pluecker and the energetic sports lover Thomas Boesch, executive assistant manager of the hotel.

The game are played in 01 mode comprising six Singles at one point each, three Doubles at two points each and a Team match at three points for a total of 15-points. A team requires eight points to seal a victory. As the admission is free at the health club, the spectators are welcome to enjoy the exciting action every Friday starting from 1.30 p.m.
