RIYADH, Feb. 13, 2001 The top Division I championship trophy of the
Nike Riyadh Team Tennis League (RTTL) Fall season that began action four months back, was
awarded to King Faisal Specialist Hospital & RC I at a colorful ceremony held at the
Najd compound hall here.
The function was well attended as about three hundred participants along with the main
sponsor Sports Ghornatah, co-sponsors Lucent Technologies and Bison Energy drink graced
the climax.
At the end of the presentation,
Farouk El Laithy, chairman RTTL in his remarks congratulated the winners and special
awardees for their outstanding performance. He said that we had a successful season
because of the cooperation of all. The continuing success of our league now in its 25th
year gives us greater inspiration to pursue its ideals, which is friendship and fun
through a fair game of tennis for a lifetime. This motto has motivated us to strengthen
the league, provide tennis enthusiasts in Riyadh a fair and honest competition.
He praised the continuous support of Sport Ghornatah, which provided
glittering trophies, shields, fabulous gifts and many door prizes. For supporting in this
season, he also thanked Lucent Technologies and Bison energy drink.
To the loud cheers of the fans, the chairman announced that
RTTL Spring Season 2001 registration is on and the action would begin from March 29.
Interested to join the action, the participants can fax their entries on 408-2584.
In a supporting gesture, Abdullah Al Thehaiban, assistant managing
director of Sport Ghornatah, promised to continue the support to the league. He said that
it is a year of jubilee celebrations for RTTL in new millennium after successful
completion of twenty-five years with fifty uninterrupted outstanding seasons to its
credit.

Veteran El Laithy heads the organizing committee for the last

Edward, Honrado and Santos.
