Dr Muhammad Afzal, Professor/Director, Centre for Information Technology
(CIT), University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi.
He did his MSc in Applied Mathematics from Quaid-i-Azam University, in
1976. He has worked with the Government of Pakistan for over two decades and
remained involved in Mathematical Modeling and software development of
Scientific and Engineering domain real-life problems. He did his MSc in
Scientific and Engineering Software Technology from Thames Polytechnic,
London, UK in 1990 and PhD in Software Engineering and Process Analysis from
Greenwich University, London UK, in 1994.
He has taught
Software Engineering to MSc Computer Sciences at QAU as visiting faculty and
Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Discrete Mathematics and Numerical
Analysis as full time faculty at Fauji Foundation Institute of Management
and Computer Sciences (now Foundation University), Lalazar, Rawalpindi. He
is currently teaching at CIT-UAAR.
Use of
state-of-the-art Software Engineering techniques, tools and methods for
quality software development, as well as 'Standards for Use of Urdu and
other Regional Languages on Computers' are the areas of his interest.
